0939 GMT - Singapore's FTSE Straits Times Index closed 0.2% higher at 3562.65, tracking U.S. futures. There was risk-on sentiment overnight amid dip buying in tech stocks ahead of the anticipated Fed rate cut next week, despite the uptick in August PPI figures, which were higher than market expectations, the Commerzbank Research team said in a note. Yangzijiang Shipbuilding rose 3.2%, Frasers Logistics & Commercial Trust gained 1.7% and ST Engineering was 1.3% higher. Among decliners, Hongkong Land fell 3.2%, while Singapore Exchange and DFI Retail Group each lost 1.1%. (kimberley.kao@wsj.com)
