Piedmont Lithium (PLL) said Monday it has received an environmental permit for the Ewoyaa lithium project in Ghana from the country's Environmental Protection Agency.
The lithium producer said it is developing the Ewoyaa project in collaboration with Atlantic Lithium.
Piedmont said it exercised its option in August 2023 to buy a roughly 23% interest in Ewoyaa under its investment deal to earn a 50% equity interest in Atlantic Lithium's Ghanaian lithium portfolio.
Shares of Piedmont were down 5.8% in recent Monday trading.
