Ioneer (IONR) said Thursday the US Bureau of Land Management released an environmental impact statement for the Rhyolite Ridge lithium-boron project in Nevada, paving the way for the mine's potential construction.
Following its publication in Friday's Federal Register, the final environmental impact statement would be subject to a 30-day statutory waiting period that would expire on Oct. 21, after which a record of decision can be issued, Ioneer said.
The proposed mine would be located in southern Nevada's Silver Peak Range and could employ up to 500 workers during construction and up to 350 workers during operations, according to the Bureau of Land Management.
Ioneer anticipates production to commence in 2028.
Ioneer shares were up nearly 6% in recent Thursday trading.
