China Daye Non-Ferrous Metals Mining (HKG:0661) said a device belonging to its subsidiary, Yangxin Hongsheng Copper Industry, caught fire on Saturday, Sept. 14, a Monday filing with the Hong Kong Exchange said.

The fire caused the thermal smelting furnace and blowing furnace systems to shut down and enter into the heat preservation state.

However, the fire was extinguished in about 3 and a half hours the same day without any casualties, while the fire damage that occurred will be covered by third-party insurers.

The mining company said the output of cathode copper is still expected to be 680,000 tons this year, higher than the 625,000 tons booked last year, despite the production reduction amidst the shutdown.

The company does not expect the incident to leave adverse effects on the company's yearly performance and output.
