The Bank of East Asia (HKG:0023) fully redeemed $650 million of additional tier 1 undated capital securities on Thursday, a Friday bourse filing said.
The securities had been issued under the bank's $6 billion medium-term bond program.
The lender has applied to the Hong Kong bourse to withdraw the listing of the securities, which is expected to become effective Sept. 30.
Shares of the company closed nearly 2% lower on Friday.
