据报道，SpaceX公司一位高管表示，该公司最近与美联航(UAL.US)达成一项协议，将为所有航班乘客提供免费网络连接，其中积压的Starlink Wi-Fi订单几乎翻了一番。根据该协议，美联航将在未来几年内在其所有飞机上提供机上连接服务，测试将于明年初开始。这也是Starlink最大的空中连接协议。
Starlink销售和合作主管尼克•加拉诺在巴黎举行的世界太空商业周会议上表示:“我们现在约有2500架飞机签订了合同，这令我们非常兴奋。这将为这家初创公司带来不断增长的体验，并将与全球所有乘客和航空公司产生共鸣。”
据了解，SpaceX已开始为夏威夷航空(HA.US)、卡塔尔航空、Zip航空(Zipair Tokyo)、拉脱维亚的波罗的海航空和半私营航空公司JSX提供机上Wi-Fi服务。
加拉诺说，Starlink卫星星座“(容量)可能是所有传统系统提供的100多倍”，“目前容量超过每秒300太比特”。
目前大约有6400颗Starlink卫星在轨道上运行，连接着超过3百万客户。SpaceX也没有放慢脚步，今年平均每三天发射一次运载新卫星的火箭。
