格隆汇9月20日｜梅西百货公司周四表示，该公司将为即将到来的假日季招聘31500多名全职和兼职员工。梅西百货去年曾表示将招聘约3.8万名员工，而2022年则宣布将招聘约4.1万名员工。据Challenger, Gray & Christmas公司本周早些时候发布的一份报告称，由于劳动力市场疲软以及进入关键购物期后消费者支出紧缩，预计美国零售商今年假日季的招聘人数将少于2023年。德勤的一份预测报告显示，由于持续的通胀和储蓄耗尽使消费者在节假日购物前变得更加节俭，美国节假日销售额预计将创六年来最慢增速。假日销售通常占美国零售商全年收入的一半以上。
