路透华盛顿9月20日 - 美国航空公司 周五要求美国交通部允许其推迟恢复每天从美国飞往中国的两个航班，理由是世界上最大的两个经济体之间的旅行需求滞后。
这家美国航空公司目前每天有一班航班往返于达拉斯和上海之间，并请求批准延长豁免期，继续停飞另外两班每天飞往中国的航班，称 "美中客运需求尚未恢复到大流行前的水平"。
达美航空公司（Delta Air Lines） 和美国联合航空公司（United Airlines） 也都请求批准继续停飞大部分中国航班。
