阿拉斯加航空（Alaska Air）完成对夏威夷航空公司（Hawaiian Airlines）的收购，两家航空公司表示，这笔交易将把夏威夷与更多的美国目的地连接起来，并为阿拉斯加航空提供一条通往国际发展的道路。

对于将领导合并后航空公司的阿拉斯加首席执行官Ben Minicucci说，这将是他第二次驾驭大型合并。在阿拉斯加航空2016年收购维珍航空（Virgin）后，Ben Minicucci负责监督阿拉斯加航空和维珍美国航空（Virgin America）的整合。
他在接受采访时说∶“我们以前就做过这个，我们知道怎厶做。”他还补充说，他希望这个过程能在 24 个月内或更早完成。阿拉斯加航空股价周三下跌 2.4%，而美国主要股指变化不大。
两家航空公司需要获得政府批准才能完成合并，还必须过渡到单一机票预订系统，并需要与工会达成集体谈判协议。
Minicucci重申，夏威夷航空的品牌仍将保留，其标志性标识仍将悬挂在往返于夏威夷各岛屿的飞机尾翼上，但他表示，该航空公司仍在确定具体细节。
