BUZZ-Hong Kong-listed Chinese EV makers surge as EU, China boost efforts to avert tariffs

** Hong Kong-listed shares of Xpeng soar 10.8% to 6-month high of HK$39.45, leading a surge in Chinese EV makers' stocks

** Xpeng on track for fifth straight week of gains

** Peers Geely Auto up 5.8%, Li Auto gains 4.6%, Great Wall Motor adds 1.2%, BYD rises 0.7% and SAIC climbs 0.2%

** European Commission and China have agreed to intensify efforts to avert EU import tariffs on China-made EV and could re-examine a minimum-price deal previously rejected by the EU, the Commission said on Thursday

** China's blue-chip CSI 300 Index slips 0.2%, Shanghai Composite Index eases 0.03%

** Hong Kong's Hang Seng Commerce and Industry Index rises 2.2%, Hang Seng Index adds 1.9%
