消息面上，新奥能源(02688)发布公告，有关公司董事会公告批准公司动用不超过一亿美元等值的港元，根据公司于2018年11月30日采纳的股份奖励计划，指示负责管理股份奖励计划的受托人购买公司于香港联合交易所有限公司主板上市的普通股以用于股份奖励计划。同日，董事会宣布公司有意动用另一笔不超过3亿港元资金于公开市场回购股份。
中金发布研报称，在当前股价下新奥能源2024E股息收益率约5.9%，该行认为对长线投资者已具备较高吸引力。此外，基于目前城市燃气行业发展情况，该行认为中长期公司资本开支规模或下修至50-60亿元/年，资本开支规模下修及天然气零售业务盈利能力的改善或在中长期将公司自由现金流提升至60-70亿元/年，该行认为公司中长期派息能力仍有较大提升空间。
