EHang Holdings (EH) said Tuesday it successfully completed the first flight of its EH216-S, a pilotless electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft, in Brazil.
The trial flight took place in Quadra in the Sao Paulo region in collaboration with its local operator, Gohobby Future Technologies, the company said.
The flight followed the granting of an Experimental Flight Authorization Certificate by Brazil's National Civil Aviation Agency, allowing EHang to conduct extensive testing with the EH216-S, it added.
Shares of the company rose more than 9% in recent trading.
