BYD (SHE:002594, HKG:1211) recalled nearly 97,000 electric vehicles due to a manufacturing fault in the steering that may lead to overheating and fire risks, according to a statement with the Quality Development Bureau.
These include 87,762 units units of domestic Dolphin and Yuan PLUS electric vehicles produced between Feb. 4, 2023, and Dec. 26, 2023, as well as 8,952 units of domestic Yuan PLUS electric vehicles produced between Nov. 2, 2022, and June 19, 2023.
The EV company will entrust its authorized dealers to install controller insulation gaskets for the recalled vehicles, according to the statement.
