BBN Airlines Indonesia Officially Begins Operations

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian aviation landscape has witnessed the emergence of a new airline, Blue Bird Nordic or BBN Airlines Indonesia. This airline, a subsidiary of Avia Solutions Group, officially commenced operations on Friday, September 27, 2024.

BBN Airlines Indonesia made its inaugural flight from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Cengkareng, Tangerang, to Juanda International Airport in Sidoarjo, East Java.

“We have conquered the skies, our flights will operate seamlessly. Fasten your seatbelts, we are prepared to serve,” declared BBN Airlines Indonesia in a post on its official Instagram account on Thursday, September 26, 2024.

The airline company has meticulously prepared a fleet of three Boeing 737-800 units to cater to chartered passenger requests, and an additional three Boeing 737-800 and Boeing 737-400 cargo planes to serve both domestic and international flights. Moreover, the airline aspires to expand its fleet to 40 aircraft by 2027.

To date, the airline serves three domestic flight routes. The first route connects Soekarno-Hatta Airport (CGK), Jakarta, to Juanda Airport (SUB), Surabaya, with seven round-trip flights per week starting on September 27, 2024.

According to one of the flight ticket provider websites, BBN Airlines Indonesia has scheduled its flight from Jakarta to Surabaya to depart at 5:20 p.m. The ticket price for this route is priced at Rp1.06 million per person as of Thursday, October 3, 2024. Prices are subject to fluctuations based on the booking date.

For the return journey from Surabaya to Jakarta, the plane is scheduled to depart at 7:35 p.m. The ticket is priced at Rp1.06 million for the current date. Similar to the outbound flight, prices may vary depending on the booking date.

The second route extends from Soekarno-Hatta Airport (CGK), Jakarta, to Sepinggan Airport (BPN), Balikpapan, and commenced operations on September 30, 2024. This route also offers seven round-trip flights per week.

The ticket price from Jakarta to Balikpapan is currently listed at Rp1.5 million. The flight departs daily at 10:45 a.m. For the return journey from Balikpapan to Jakarta, the ticket is priced at Rp1.7 million, with a departure time of 3:15 p.m. Ticket prices for this route may also fluctuate.

Lastly, the airline serves flights between Soekarno-Hatta Airport (CGK), Jakarta, and I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport (DPS), Denpasar, Bali, with seven weekly round trips starting from Wednesday, October 2, 2024.

BBN Airlines Indonesia scheduled its flight from Jakarta to Denpasar to depart at 7:10 a.m., with a ticket price of Rp1.4 million. For the return flight, the ticket is set at Rp1.2 million, departing at 11:10 a.m.
