Deals of the day-Mergers and acquisitions

Oct 4 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers, acquisitions and disposals were reported by 0930 GMT on Friday:

** Italian pharma group Recordati said it would buy from Sanofi the global rights to a drug used to treat cold agglutinin disease, a rare autoimmune disorder, for $825 million, sending both stocks up in early trade.

** U.S. bank JPMorgan Chase & Co has become a substantial shareholder in Star Entertainment , an exchange filing showed, as shares of the embattled Australian casino operator have fallen sharply in last few years amid liquidity issues.

** Private equity firm Apollo Global Management is in talks to acquire Barnes Group

, a manufacturer of aerospace components with a market value of about $2 billion, people familiar with the matter said.

** U.S. utility firm Talen Energy said it has bought TeraWulf's minority stake in a 200-megawatt (MW) bitcoin mining facility in Pennsylvania.

** Thomson Reuters , said it was selling its FindLaw business to Internet Brands.
