Montauk Renewables (MNTK) has entered an agreement with Emvolon, an MIT spin-off, to demonstrate the conversion of biogas into green methanol at its renewable gas production site in Humble, Texas, Emvolon said Monday.

The pilot aims to produce up to 15,300 gallons of green methanol annually, with potential scalability to 2.4 million gallons in the future, Emvolon said.

Emvolon's technology converts methane from biogas into liquid green chemicals and fuels for sectors like maritime and aviation, according to the company statement.
