West African Resources (ASX:WAF) produced 47,799 ounces of gold from its Sanbrado operations in Burkina Faso during the third quarter, down 6% from the second quarter, according to a Tuesday filing with the Australian bourse.

The gold mining company attributed the decline to a slightly lower head grade and recovery.

Gold sales reached 49,643 ounces at an average price of $2,493 per ounce, bringing the year-to-date sales to 151,596 ounces at an average price of $2,297 per ounce, the filing showed.

West African Resources said it is tracking towards the upper end of its gold production guidance of 190,000 to 210,000 ounces for 2024.
