China International Marine Containers (Group) or CIMC (HKG:2039) unit China International Marine Containers (Hong Kong) bought 8,336,000 shares in CIMC Enric (HKG:3899), another unit of the company, a Wednesday bourse filing said.
The shares, which represent roughly 0.41% of CIMC Enric's issued share capital, were acquired from the open market between Sept. 27 and Oct. 4 for around HK$6.926 apiece.
Following the purchase, the shipping company holds a total of 1,379,352,211, or around 68% shares in Chinese key equipment manufacturer and integrated engineering services provider CIMC Enric.
Shares of CIMC and CIMC Enric closed 5% and 3% lower, respectively, on Wednesday.
