The Container Store received a $40 million investment from Beyond. Specialty retail chain Container Store, which sells storage and organization products, said the partnership would help it return to profitable comparable-store growth. The Container Store shares surge 45%, to $15.50, in post-market trading.
J.B. Hunt Transport Services said profit and revenue fell in the third quarter, dragged down by lower gross revenue per load and a decline in trucking volume. The freight operator reported a profit of $1.49 a share, ahead of the $1.39 a share that analysts expected. Revenue fell 3% to $3.07 billion, but beat the $3 billion the Wall Street analysts were looking for. Shares rise 6.8%, to $186.50, in after-hours trading.
Penguin Solutions' fourth-quarter results missed Wall Street expectations. The company, which was previously called Smart Global Holdings, swung to a loss of $24.5 million, compared with a profit of $64.8 million last year. Adjusted earnings were 37 cents a share and revenue fell 1.7%, to $311.1 million, missing the analysts' expectations of adjusted earnings of 40 cents a share and revenue of $325 million, according to FactSet. Shares tumble 16%, to $17.09, in post-market trading.
