American Airlines Group (AAL) and Delta Air Lines (DAL) are among airlines that are set to be awarded an additional long-distance flight at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, citing a person familiar with the matter.

Southwest Airlines (LUV) and Alaska Air Group (ALK) are also poised for one round-trip flight each from the US Transportation Department, the report said.

The US agency declined to comment, American had no immediate comment and Southwest and Alaska Air didn't immediately respond to requests for comment, Bloomberg said.

JetBlue Airways (JBLU), Frontier Group Holdings (ULCC), Spirit Airlines (SAVE) and United Airlines Holdings (UAL) also applied for the last of five round trips, the report said.

American, Delta, Southwest, Alaska Air and the Department of Transportation didn't immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
