智通财经APP获悉，10月17日（周四）美股盘前，由于医疗补助支付不足，保险公司Elevance(ELV.US)公布的第三季度业绩不及华尔街预期，并下调了今年的盈利预期。该股盘前跌11.04%，报442.10美元。
财报显示，Elevance第三降低营收447亿美元，同比增长5.2%，超出市场预期；本季度调整后收益为每股 8.37 美元，而彭博调查的分析师预期为每股 9.66 美元。
该公司预计全年调整后利润将约为每股 33 美元，低于早先预测的每股 37.20 美元。
Elevance 的医疗损失率(衡量医疗成本的关键指标)为 89.5%，低于华尔街的预期。
截至2024年9月30日季度，应付赔款天数为 42.8 天，与去年同期相比减少 5.8 天，原因是平均每日福利费用增加。
Elevance 表示，其医疗补助业务面临“前所未有的挑战”，该业务为低收入美国人提供安全网医疗计划。自新冠疫情结束以来，各州已将数百万人从医疗补助计划中剔除，保险公司表示，他们支付的费用不足以满足剩余成员的医疗需求。
该结果可能预示着该行业将面临更广泛的麻烦，医疗费用增加加上政府健康计划支付减少正在挤压利润。Elevance 是第二家下调今年业绩预期的保险公司。联合健康周二公布的盈利预测低于华尔街预期，令投资者感到失望。
