TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto received nine state guests at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Sunday afternoon, October 20. These guests included leaders of states and governments, as well as representatives, sent to attend the inauguration of Prabowo and Gibran Rakabuming as president and vice president.

“Prabowo welcomes state leaders at the Palace to honor their arrival in Jakarta,” said the Head of the Presidential Communication Office, Hasan Nasbi, at the Presidential Office, the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta.

The nine state guests in attendance were Deputy Prime Minister of Australia Richard Marles, Foreign Minister of the UK David Lammy, Deputy Prime Minister of New Zealand, Prime Minister of South Korea Han Duck-Soo, Prime Minister of Singapore Lawrence Wong, Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea James Marape, Prime Minister of Vanuatu Charlot Salwai Tabimasmas, Vice President of Laos Pany Yathotou, and Vice President of China Han Zheng.

Hasan emphasized that Prabowo's meetings with these leaders of friendly nations were crucial for strengthening bilateral cooperation. In his speech today at the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR), Prabowo reiterated Indonesia's commitment to a non-aligned foreign policy, stressing the country's friendly relations with all nations and its avoidance of joining any specific pact.

“We will remain on our non-aligned foreign policy,” said the founder of pollster Cyrus Network.

Earlier this morning, Prabowo took the oath of office as president at the Senayan Parliament Building in Jakarta. Following the inauguration event, he visited the Merdeka Palace for a farewell ceremony with the 7th Indonesian President, Joko Widodo or Jokowi.

After the event at the Merdeka Palace, Prabowo escorted Jokowi to Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, to return to Solo, Central Java. Prabowo is expected to announce his cabinet lineup later this evening.
