路透10月16日 - 美国能源部周三表示，已批准为两个可持续航空燃料项目提供总额近30亿美元的有条件贷款担保承诺。

该机构的贷款项目办公室表示，向Calumet公司部门提供的高达14.4亿美元的资金将用于支持其蒙大拿设施的扩建。

该工厂将利用植物油、脂肪和油脂生产SAF、可再生柴油和可再生石脑油。

该机构表示，如果贷款担保最终敲定，将为设施扩建提供资金，以每年生产约 3.15 亿加仑的生物燃料，其中大部分将是 SAF。

白宫的目标是到 2050 年用 SAF 满足美国所有的航空燃料需求，到 2030 年每年供应至少 30 亿加仑的 SAF。

能源部表示，Gevo公司将成为美国第一家将玉米淀粉转化为具有碳捕集和可再生能源的SAF的综合性商业规模设施。
