10月23日，据报道，美国边疆航空(Frontier Airlines)正在寻求重新竞购Spirit Airlines(SAVE.US)。
知情人士表示，两家廉价航空公司最近进行了谈判，不过谈判还处于早期阶段，可能不会达成协议。
据报道，如果达成协议，这可能会成为Spirit重组破产债务和其他负债的一部分。
周一，Spirit股价飙升逾53%，此前该航空公司争取到了更多时间来解决债务负担问题，这些问题增加了破产的可能性。周二美股盘后，该股续涨逾17%。
据了解，由于面对捷蓝航空(JBLU.US)提出的竞争性报价，边疆航空2022年收购Spirit的交易破裂。但今年1月，捷蓝航空和Spirit的交易因反垄断理由被阻止。
此后，Spirit一直举步维艰，因为发动机部件缺陷导致其部分飞机停飞，而在关键的夏季旅行期间，由于整个行业产能过剩，票价也受到了限制。
