Aurelia Metals (ASX:AMI) said its Cobar Basin optimization scoping study identified a throughput expansion of the Peak processing plant as the preferred optimization strategy, according to a Wednesday filing with the Australian Securities Exchange.

The expansion would take capacity to 1,100 to 1,200 kilotonnes per annum from 800 kilotonnes per annum, allowing Peak to process all Federation mine ores, the filing said.

The Peak expansion would enable the Hera plant to process additional company or third-party ore feeds, according to the filing.

Shares fell nearly 3% in afternoon trade Thursday.
