Freightways Group' (NZE:FRW, ASX:FRW) net profit rose 4% to NZ$19 million for the fiscal first quarter ended Sept. 30 compared with NZ$18.3 million in the same period a year ago, according to a Wednesday filing with the Australian bourse.
Revenue jumped 7% to NZ$319.6 million from NZ$298 million year on year, the filing said.
The express package, information management, and waste management firm expects earnings to "remain subdued" in the fiscal H1 before achieving organic growth in the fiscal second half, the filing added.
The company will now focus on restoring margins by the end of the current fiscal year toward fiscal year 2026, as per the filing.
The company's shares were up more than 1% in recent Wednesday trade in New Zealand.
