Spirit AeroSystems (SPR) is considering furloughing or laying off hundreds of additional employees if the strike by Boeing's factory workers extends beyond Nov. 25, CNBC reported Thursday, citing Spirit's spokesman Joe Buccino.
Spirit is already preparing temporary furloughs impacting about 700 employees in its facilities in Wichita, Kansas, starting next week, according to the report.
The new reductions will be in addition to these furloughs, Buccino reportedly said.
Neither Spirit nor Boeing immediately responded to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
Shares of Spirit fell 2.8% in recent trading.
