Consumer stocks were flat to higher premarket Monday as the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) was 0.3% higher and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) was recently unchanged.
McDonald's (MCD) shares were up over 1% after the company and the Colorado Department of Agriculture said the restaurant's beef patties did not cause an ongoing outbreak of E. Coli virus.
Modine Manufacturing (MOD) shares were 0.6% higher after the company said it has opened a new air handling units' production site in Calgary, Canada.
