Posco (KRX:005490) completed a lithium hydroxide plant in Argentina's Salta province, Pulse News reported Monday.
The plant, with an annual output of 25,000 tons, will support about 600,000 electric vehicles. Posco also plans to expand the plant with additional upstream and downstream facilities, aiming to reach 100,000 tons a year by adding phases through 2025, the report said.
This project will boost the company's supply chain for lithium, a vital component in its secondary battery materials business, the report said.
