Maanshan Iron & Steel (HKG:0323, SHA:600808) swung to an attributable loss of 1.39 billion yuan in the third quarter from a profit of 637.7 million yuan in the year-ago period.
The Chinese steel company swung to a loss per share of 0.1805 yuan from 0.082 yuan.
Operating income declined 26% year over year to 18.5 billion yuan, according to a Wednesday filing with the Hong Kong Exchange.
Shares jumped 1% in Hong Kong and Shanghai during Friday's trading.
