U.S. stocks were set to open flat on Monday as traders stayed away from large bets in an action-packed week in which Americans will elect a new president and the Federal Reserve is likely to cut its benchmark policy rate.

At 9:07 ET, Dow e-minis were down 0.09% at 42,172. S&P 500 e-minis were up 0.03% at 5,759.75, while Nasdaq 100 e-minis were down 0.13% at 20,128.
