Centrus Energy (LEU) said Friday it plans to submit at least one waiver request application to the US Department of Energy to import low enriched uranium from Russia in 2026 and 2027.
The DOE has allowed Centrus to import the material from Russia in 2025 under a waiver request granted under the Prohibiting Russian Imports Act, the nuclear fuel supplier said.
Centrus said the 2025 Russian uranium imports are to be shipped to its foreign customers, while the prospective 2026 and 2027 purchases are intended to meet the expected requirements of the US nuclear industry.
Centrus shares were up more than 11% in recent trading.
