Ballard Power Systems said Monday that it has received an order for 200 fuel cell engines from a subsidiary of NFI Group, a bus and coach manufacturer.
The Canadian manufacturer of hydrogen fuel cells said the order was made by the subsidiary, New Flyer, and represents the second purchase order under the long-term supply agreement it has with NFI Group.
The first order was for 100 engines.
Ballard expects to deliver the 200 engines in 2025 to power New Flyer's hydrogen fuel cell buses that will be deployed across the U.S., including in California, Washington, Arizona, Nevada, and New York.
