Viking Mines to Start Drilling at Western Australian Project; Shares Climb 10%

Viking Mines (ASX:VKA) is set to start a 5,000-meter drill program at the First Hit gold project in Western Australia, according to a Wednesday filing with the Australian bourse.

The mining firm signed a deal with contractor Topdrill to test targets situated along a 25-kilometer strike of the Zuleika Shear within the month, the filing said.

Viking Mines' shares climbed 10% in recent Wednesday trade.
