消息面上，11月11日，中国有色金属工业协会有关负责人就当前氧化铝市场答记者问：我们认为，氧化铝价格走势存在非理性因素，资本过度投机炒作明显。按照当前成本和价格测算，氧化铝行业平均利润达2000元/吨以上，不可持续，也不应该持续。周一，氧化铝期货主力合约早盘曾涨超3%，午后跳水一度转跌。
此外，花旗上月底发布研究报告称，中国铝业今年首九个月净利润同比升68%，分别相当于市场及该行预期的70%及69%。若剔除减损损失，该行预计中铝今年首九个月的经常性净利润为90.8亿元人民币，同比增长73%。花旗表示，中铝今年第三季度毛利同比及按季分别下跌16%及39%，主要由于铝冶炼资产折旧调整、电费附加调整、铝土矿储量调整。该行认为业绩表现不佳或会导致该股面临短期获利回吐压力，故中止对其积极催化剂观察。
