Transurban Group (ASX:TCL) confirmed that the New South Wales (NSW) Government's introduction of NSW Motorways legislation does not override existing contracts, according to a Monday filing with the Australian bourse.
The legislation establishes NSW Motorways to manage tollways not owned by private concessions, and an independent ombudsman to address customer-toll road operator disputes, the filing said.
It also empowers the Independent Pricing and Review Tribunal to monitor and report on toll road administration, without overriding toll prices set through privately negotiated contracts, according to the filing.
