Sinclair (SBGI) said Friday it agreed to collaborate with the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay on wireless broadcast technology for next-generation telecom and broadcast networks.
Financial details weren't disclosed.
The research will focus on improving the ATSC 3.0 wireless broadcast standard for mobile, television, and fixed applications, improving broadcast-to-everything, or B2X use cases like traffic management, 5G interworking, spectrum efficiency, datacasting, edge content, and battery life for IoT devices.
Shares of Sinclair were down 4.2% in recent Friday trading.
