A Rome court on Monday asked EU judges to weigh in on the detention of sea migrants in Albania, again frustrating the Italian right-wing government's efforts to pursue its flagship plan to crackdown on irregular arrivals.

ECONOMY

Bank of Italy releases September data on Italian residents deposits with domestic banks, banks lending to non-financial companies and gross bad loans at Italian banks.

DEBT

Treasury sells 7.5 billion euros 12-month BOT bills due Nov. 14, 2025 and 1.5 billion euros BOT bills due Jan. 14, 2025. Subscriptions close at 1000 GMT.

COMPANIES

IVECO IVG.MI/LEONARDO LDOF.MI

IDV, part of Iveco Group specialised in defence and civil protection equipment, has signed a preliminary agreement with Leonardo to supply functional parts for future contracts within the Leonardo and Rheinmetall joint venture.

IDV's participation will be 12% to 15% of the joint venture's total activities for the development and production of tracked combat ground vehicles for the Italian Army.

The Italian maker of posh puffer jackets is not in talks to take over Burberry BRBY.L, four sources close to the matter said on Monday in response to a report by Britain's Mail on Sunday that a bid by Moncler was imminent.
