美国西南航空公司周一表示，将向机场工作人员提供买断和延长休假，以避免所谓的“某些地点人员冗余”，并将这么做的原因归咎于波音公司的新飞机短缺。

　　此举正值一家对冲基金向该航空公司施压，要求其增加利润并提振股价之际。自2021年初以来，美国西南航空股价大幅下跌。

　　美国西南航空的一位发言人表示，“自愿离职”的提议仅限于18个机场。该公司拒绝透露具体是哪些机场，也不愿透露希望裁掉多少工作岗位。

　　所有的目标工作都在地面操作中，包括客户服务代理、行李搬运工和货运工人。这位发言人说，飞行员和空乘人员不包括在买断要约中。

　　美国西南航空的管理层此前表示，计划到今年年底裁员2000人。去年，西南航空的员工从6.66万人增加到近7.5万人。

　　美国西南航空公司最初预计今年将有大约85架新的波音737飞机，但由于波音公司的生产问题，这一数字已减少到20架，这是在1月份阿拉斯加航空公司一架波音737 Max飞机的一个舱门在一次飞行中坠落后开始的。

　　美国西南航空的机队全部由波音737组成，包括737 Max和旧版本的飞机。
