Keppel (SGX:BN4) acquired an AI-ready data center located in Tokyo, according to a company filing on Nov. 5.
The company entered into a sale and purchase agreement with Mitsui Fudosan (TYO:8801) for the purchase of Keppel Data Center Tokyo 2 through its private fund, Keppel Data Center Fund II.
The acquisition is the company's first data center development project in Japan and its second such asset in the country.
Through the data center, the company aims to develop hyperscale designs and standards to offer greater energy efficiency, scalability and connectivity.
