评级机构惠誉称，将中银香港(02388)的长期发行人违约评级由“A”上调至“A+”，展望稳定。同时，惠誉确认中银香港的生存力评级及股东支持评级为“a”。惠誉认为，中银香港是其母行中国银行(03988)(A/负面)的重要附属公司，其外部高级债权人可以从中银香港向中行发行的处置资金中受益，因此该行上调了中银香港的长期发行人违约评级。

2024年初，据处置机构发布声明，香港本地具有系统重要性的银行(包括中银香港)的吸收亏损能力要求已实施完毕。
