ASX Market Close: New all time record as IT leaps forward | November 19, 2024

The ASX200 closed up 0.9% at 8,374 points, after hitting a new all time record of 8,446 points in intra-day trade.

The Aussie tech sector soared 3.1% pushing the local index to record highs. Enterprise software company Technology One (ASX:TNE) had a stellar day, up 10% to close at $29.45.

Telecommunication also performed strongly, up 1.5%, followed closely by Energy, up 1.45%

In the Green

Sun Silver (ASX:SS1) closed up 6.5% on assay results from its Maverick Springs Silver-Gold Project in Nevada, USA. The results from the 220m step-out drill hole revealed a 50m mineralised intercept grading at 70g/t silver equivalent.

Sun Silver closed at 74 cents.

State Gas (ASX:GAS) closed up 2.6% on resolution of an access dispute involving its Rolleston West Project. The company will now resume gas production activities.

State Gas pulled up stumps at 3.9 cents.

Aurora Energy Metals (ASX:1AE) closed up 67.4% after securing an option agreement with US-based Eagle Energy Metals for the sale of the Aurora Uranium Project for $40 million.

Aurora Energy Metals closed at 7.2 cents.

In the Red

KMD Brands (ASX:KMD) closed down 3.8% after reporting a 5.8% drop in first-quarter sales. All brands lost ground including Rip Curl, down 6.7% and Kathmandu, down 2.7%.

KMD Brands closed at 37.5 cents.

Waratah Minerals (ASX:WTM) closed down 16.3% on results from its ongoing drilling program at the Spur Project, located in the Lachlan Fold Belt, New South Wales.

Waratah Minerals closed at 20.5 cents.

Elders (ASX:ELD) closed down 10.9% after it completed the institutional part of its capital raising. The company raised around $143 million at $7.85 per share, representing a 9.2% discount to yesterday’s close price.

Elders closed at $7.76.
