智通财经获悉，Amcor Plc(AMCR.US)同意以约84亿美元的价格收购Berry Global Group(BERY.US)，这两家全球最大的包装生产商将由此合并。根据一份声明，在全股票交易中，Berry的股东将以每股Berry股票换取7.25股Amcor股票，收购价为每股73.59美元，较周一收盘价溢价约10%。声明称，Amcor的股东将持有合并后公司约63%的股份，合并后公司的收入将达到240亿美元。
包装行业近几个月来出现了一系列交易，其中引人注目的合并包括国际纸业公司(IP.US)收购DS Smith Plc，以及Smurfit Kappa Group同意收购WestRock Plc。
Amcor专注于一系列食品和饮料产品包装，以及医疗保健和其他包装市场。Berry Global的产品包括垃圾袋、瓶子等包装。两家公司表示，交易预计将于明年年中完成;并预计在交易完成后的第三年年底，将从成本和其他协同效应中获得6.5亿美元的收益。Amcor首席执行官Peter Konieczny将在合并后的公司担任CEO一职，总部仍将设在瑞士。
