NexGen Energy (NYSE:NXE) +8.3% pre-market Tuesday after saying the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission confirmed successful completion of the final federal technical review for its Rook I uranium project.

NexGen (NXE) said its next and final steps include scheduling a CNSC hearing date for the project and a subsequent federal project approval decision.

The federal environmental assessment and license represent the final major approval steps after having received provincial environmental assessment approval a year ago.

"With over $800M in cash and liquid assets, we are ready pending a positive Commission decision with all activities required to immediately commence major site works in place," NexGen (NXE) CEO Leigh Curyer said.
