宝可梦公司宣布，2022 年发售的《宝可梦：朱紫》日本地区销量截至 11 月 18 日达 830 万部，打破了 28 年前的《宝可梦：红绿》（1996 年）纪录成功登顶。
为纪念这一成就，宝可梦公司举办了庆祝活动，并推出异色神兽、龙太晶属性的传说宝可梦“烈空坐”。IT之家提醒，每个游戏存档限捕获一只异色烈空坐，活动期间可继续参与太晶团体战并领取奖励。
12 月 14 日起，宝可梦公司还将推出黑色烈空坐的“Pokémon fit”系列毛绒玩具。
官方表示，第十世代《宝可梦》发布时间目前尚未确定，但《宝可梦朱 / 紫》仍在持续更新，预计 2025 年将推出以第六世代《X / Y》为主题的新作《宝可梦传说 ZA》，超级进化系统也将回归。
任天堂在 Q2 财报中透露，《宝可梦》系列在 Switch 平台的累计销量已超过 9900 万套。包括《宝可梦 Let's Go！皮卡丘 / 伊布》《宝可梦剑 / 盾》等作品在内，新作《宝可梦传说 ZA》的发售有望使销量突破 1 亿。
