智通财经APP获悉，Cleveland Research表示，麦当劳(MCD.US)大肠杆菌感染事故的影响比预期的要严重，该公司10月底和11月的可比销售额远低于最初的预期。因此，该行将对麦当劳第四季度可比销售额增长预期下调至-1.5%，低于大肠杆菌感染事故前预期的2%。
Cleveland Research表示：“麦当劳似乎正在向受冲击最严重的加盟商投资，并在整个系统中增加营销、促销和折扣，以帮助恢复客流量，但目前影响/提升尚不确定。”
上个月，美国疾病控制与预防中心(CDC)警告称，麦当劳的“四分之一磅汉堡包”(Quarter Pounder hamburgers)在美国多州引发与大肠杆菌相关的疾病。疾控中心在一份报告中表示，美国有49人因食用“四分之一磅汉堡包”而患病，疾控中心已就此展开调查。据悉，目前全美有包括1名儿童在内的10人因感染相关疾病住院，1人死亡。
麦当劳迅速对此事件做出了响应，公司声明称正在采取“迅速果断的行动”，并指出初步调查结果表明，这些疾病可能与一种由单一供应商提供的切片洋葱有关。
尽管麦当劳首席财务官Ian Borden在10月底的财报电话会议上向分析师保证，此次公共卫生事件不会对第四季度的业绩产生实质性影响，但他承认，在大肠杆菌感染事故发生的几天后，其日销售额出现了负增长，客流量也有所减少。这促使该公司投资1亿美元帮助受该感染事故最严重的加盟商。
