COSCO Shipping Energy Transportation Buys Six Tankers for 5.75 Billion Yuan

COSCO Shipping Energy Transportation (HKG:1138, SHA:600026), through COSCO Shipping Energy Transportation (Hainan), agreed to buy six tankers in 5.75 billion yuan shipbuilding contracts with Dalian Shipbuilding and China Shipbuilding Trading, according to a Hong Kong Stock Exchange disclosure on Nov. 22.

The tankers, each worth 958 million yuan, are very large crude carriers for LNG or liquefied natural gas or methanol dual fuel with a maximum deadweight of 307,000 deadweight tons at structural draught each.

Dalian Shipbuilding and China Shipbuilding Trading will design, build and deliver the ships to COSCO Shipping Energy Transportation between the third quarter of 2027 and the fourth quarter of 2028, the disclosure said.
