Air New Zealand's Group Capacity Down 2.1% in October

Air New Zealand's (NZE:AIR, ASX:AIZ) group capacity fell 2.1% year on year in October following a 4.6% decline in September, according to a Thursday filing with the Australian and New Zealand bourse.

Long-haul international available seat kilometers (ASKs) dropped 4.8%, short-haul international ASKs rose 1.1%, and domestic ASKs were up 2.3%.

New Zealand's flagship airline carried roughly 1.3 million passengers in October, down 1.7% from a year earlier.

Year to date, Air New Zealand carried around 5.2 million passengers, down 3.2% on the year-earlier period, the filing said.

The company's Australia and New Zealand shares were each down 1% in recent Thursday trade.
