Tencent's (HKG:0700) Nintendo Switch said the Chinese eShop and other online services for the Nintendo Switch will slowly cut operations starting in 2026, Reuters reported Tuesday, citing a company statement.
The Chinese eShop will stop offering paid and free games and software on March 31, 2026. From May 15, 2026, it will also suspend download and code redemption services. Other remaining online services will be shut down on May 15 as well.
The move will primarily impact game players who are opting for Chinese versions since others can connect to consoles outside China.
