China Water Affairs Group (HKG:0855) recorded a profit attributable to owners of HK$755.6 million for the six months ended Sept. 30, 8.5% lower than HK$825.9 million logged for the corresponding period last year, according to a Friday filing with the Hong Kong Exchange.
Earnings per share attributable to owners stood at HK$0.4629 for the reporting period, compared with HK$0.5060 recorded for the year-ago period.
The water supply company's revenue for the six months under review was HK$5.95 billion, 13% lower than HK$6.85 billion booked a year ago.
The company attributed the decrease in revenue to a decline in revenues from construction activities and an overall decrease in installation, maintenance, and construction works for certain segments.
The board recommended an interim dividend of HK$0.13 per share for the reporting period, the same as last year.
